This is a beautiful book or show catalog that tracks Davis's career from the early days, and reveals so much of the philosophy and politics that informed Davis's work--information that the casual observer never would have guessed, only an art historian. The illustrations are beautiful and plentiful--they put me into kind of an artistic hog heaven, being able to see so much of his work under one cover, so beautifully reproduced, and which such scholarly yet accessible text.
